Ethiopia Safe Space Program Staff Orientation Workshop

‘Ethiopia Safe Space Program (ESSP) Staff Orientation Workshop’ was organised by implementing agencies (IA), IPE Global Limited and Pathfinder International Ethiopia from 22 to 23 November 2016 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The objectives of this workshop were as follows:
- Introduction of new ESSP staff with the project objectives, scope, strategies
- Orientation on M&E and baseline requirements
- Acquaint staff with ‘Girl Safe Guarding Principles’
- Agreement on immediate steps and priorities
Representatives of Girl Effect Ethiopia briefed the ESSP staff on the project and contributed to IAs plans to collect data from filed. Besides the objectives, discussions were held around the role of stakeholders (DFID, Federal Ministry of Health, Girl Effect, IPE Global and Pathfinder) in the implementation of this programme, mentors and girls curriculum content, mentors and girls recruitment strategies, criteria and key milestones, program visibility, monitoring and evaluation, baseline and end line surveys etc. The participants build consensus on project launching, girl mapping and obtaining a list of girls and mentors and hiring offices spaces in the upcoming days. ESSP staff commenced field work immediately after the workshop concluded after meeting all its objectives successfully.
